Director General of the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) Rear Admiral Md Ziaul Haque distributed winter clothes among the cold-stricken and distressed people at Shah Porir Island in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday.
Lieutenant Commander Md Siam-ul-Haq, media officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters, informed this through a media release on Wednesday.
Siam said that since its establishment, the Coast Guard has come forward to meet the various needs of the underprivileged people of the coastal/char areas.
He mentioned that Coast Guard has been providing public welfare services by distributing winter clothes to cold-affected people at various times and on Wednesday BCG Director General Rear Admiral Ziaul Haque distributed winter clothes to the poor people at Shah Parir Island in Teknaf.
He said that the Coast Guard will continue this kind of public welfare activities in the coastal areas under its jurisdiction in the future.
