Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized various types of Indian smuggled goods worth Tk 2,26,95,562 from Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Thursday morning.
The information was provided through a press release by BGB-25.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the BGB conducted a raid in the upazila sadar area at around 6:00AM. Sensing the presence of the BGB members, the smugglers fled from the scene, leaving behind the products.
The seized contraband items include 35,063 cosmetics items, 2,547,25 meters of cloth, 96,000 pieces of power battery, and 218 packets of chocolate.
Legal procedures are under process in this regard, it added.
