Youth hacked dead in Sunamganj

A youth was allegedly hacked to death by miscreants at Dowarabazar upazila in Sunamganj district on Thursday night. 

The incident happened at around 10:00pm in a bridge at Sunatta village under Narsingpur union in the upazila. 

The deceased was identified as Hasan Ali, 30, son of Md Nowab Ali, a resident of the area. 

It was learnt that deceased Hasan Ali gave a phone to Hossain Ahmed for repairing some days ago. But, Hossain could not complete his work. On Thursday night, the two engaged in an altercation centering this incident. Following this, the phone was taken from Hossain and given to another shop for repairing it. 

Later, at around 10:00PM, Hasan Ali was hacked by some miscreants in the area, leaving him critically injured. 

He was rescued and taken to Dowarabazar Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead. 

On information, police visited the body, said Jahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Dowarabazar Police Station. 

The reason behind the death would be known after getting autopsy report, the OC added.
