All five killed on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway belong to same family

The identities of five people killed after their private car was rammed by a bus at Dhaleswari Toll Plaza on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway have been known. All of them belong to a same family.

The deceased were Dhaka's Jurain inhabitants Sohan Mia, baby boy Emi, wife Aunamika Akter, mother-in-law Amena Begum and sister-in-law Anny Akter. Sohan Mia used to work at a private company in Dhaka.
On early Friday (December 27), Sohan Mia along with his wife, son, and other relatives were going to his village home in Gopalganj district boarding a private car through Mawa-bound lane on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway. Suddenly, a speeding  bus rammed the private car and a motorcycle from the rear side, leaving baby boy Emi dead on the spot. Then Sohan Mia, his wife Aunamika Akter, mother-in-law Amena Beghum and sister-in-law Anny Akter succumbed to their injuries while being taken to a hospital. 

Four more people injured critically in the accident have been admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka.

Munshiganj Fire Station's deputy assistant director Shafiqul Islam said the accident happened when the bus, with reckless speed and belonging to 'Bepari Paribahan,' rammed the private car on the rear side. The movement of vehicles turned normal after the removal of the vehicles damaged and twisted by the accident.

He further said police seized the bus. Deceased Sohan Mia used to work at a private company in Dhaka. He was going to Gopalganj along with his family on the holiday. 

Shafiqul Islam also said eight accidents happened on the Expressway over the last six days, leaving 7 people dead and injuring minimum 30 others.
