A case was filed against a man for attempting to rape an expatriate's wife at Ramgati upazila im Laxmipur district on Thursday afternoon.
The victim herself filed the case with Ramgati Police Station under the Women & Children Repression Prevention Act, 2000.
The accused is Rakib alias Rabbi, a resident of the area.
According to the case statement, the woman's husband is an expatriate in Saudi Arabia . On Wednesday (December 25), the accused entered the housewife's room and tried to assault her she was alone in the house. Rakib fled the scene when the woman screamed.
The victim claimed that the accused's family members had threatened her after she filed the case.
Legal procedures are underway in this regard, said Md Kabir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Ramgati Police Station.
