NATORE, Dec 27: For the first time in Singra Upazila, paddy plantation using a sowing machine system has been introduced. The inaugural ceremony was held on Thursday at Balubhara-Ninguine Beel, part of the greater Chalan Beel area.
Singra Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agriculturist Khondoker Farid, formally inaugurated the programme. Additional Agriculture Officer Mahamudul Hassan, District Agriculture Engineer Mahabubur Rahaman, Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer of Singra Pourashava Block Md Zahedul Islam, and President of the Singra Model Press Club S M Raju Ahmed were present among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Upazila Agriculture Officer Khondoker Farid highlighted the benefits of the sowing machine system.
"This modern technology is a game changer as it saves time and labour significantly. The process is simple, and farmers will find it convenient and efficient," he said.
He added that the agriculture department is committed to supporting farmers by providing solutions to their challenges as they arise.
