BIJOYNAGAR, BRAHMANBARIA, Dec 27: Members of 25 BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) Sarail Battalion of Cumilla sector have seized Indian smuggled goods worth Tk 1 crore in the district's Bijaynagar Upazila, said a press release.
According to the press release, acting on a tip-off, the patrol team of BGB conducted an operation in Kalisima area of Chandura UP at 4 am on Friday night.
During the operation, sensing the presence of the BGB, the smugglers fled, leaving behind 7,891 pieces of Indian sunglasses of various types, 1,865 pieces of cosmetics, and 113 pieces of Indian Biotic Z dry syrup.
The market value of the goods they left behind is Tk 1,00,30,550.
BGB confirmed the information in the press release sent to the media.
