Finance Affairs Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed on Friday expressed that the interim government is focused on laying a strong foundation for the next government, akin to creating a highway after paving the road.
"We have a clear understanding with the people of the country about what we are doing. If the next government shows reluctance to follow the path we are setting, the people will compel them to do so. The sky of Bangladesh will no longer be cloudy; it will shine brightly like the sun, bringing light to everyone," he said. He also added that without corruption and political uncertainty, Bangladesh could rise to new heights in the global economy.
Salehuddin, who also serves as the Science and Technology Affairs Adviser, made these remarks while addressing senior government officials in Chattogram during an event at the local circuit house.
The meeting, presided over by Divisional Commissioner Dr. Ziauddin, was attended by various key figures, including DIG of Police Ashan Habib Palash, CMP Commissioner Hasib Aziz, and Chattogram Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral Moniruzzaman, among others.
Salehuddin emphasized the interim government's focus on boosting trade and commerce to improve the economic and social conditions of the people. "We are prioritizing economic dynamism, which will uplift the lives of the common people," he stated.
He urged authorities across financial institutions to adopt and optimize information technology for the benefit of the public, further advancing the country's progress.
The adviser also underscored the importance of science and research, urging the Ministry of Science and Technology to ensure that its activities positively impact all levels of society.
In his speech, Salehuddin called on government officials to extend their full support to the interim administration. "A suitable working environment is being created at all levels of the administration, providing opportunities for honest and capable civil servants to contribute to the nation's development," he said.
Dr. Salehuddin concluded his address with optimism about Bangladesh’s future, emphasizing that the actions taken by the interim government would pave the way for a prosperous and transparent future for the country.
