To meet the growing needs of approximately 220 million people, there is a critical need to produce more food and nutrition using limited land, integrating modern knowledge and technology in the poultry sector.

In line with this goal, the "13th International Poultry Seminar" will be held at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden on February 18-19, 2025, followed by the "13th International Poultry Show" from February 20-22, 2025, at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal.
This announcement was made on saturday by Moshiur Rahman, President of the World's Poultry Science Association-Bangladesh Branch (WPSA-BB), during an interactive meeting with senior journalists at a hotel in Dhaka.

Moshiur Rahman stated that currently, Bangladesh produces approximately 45 million eggs daily, 20 million day-old chicks weekly, and around 7.5 to 8 million metric tons of feed annually-figures that were once unimaginable three decades ago. The government aims to increase annual per capita egg availability to 208, daily milk availability to 300 ml, and daily meat availability to 160 grams by 2041. Achieving this will require almost double the current production levels, which is impossible without modern knowledge and technology in poultry science. This year's event aims to empower Bangladesh's poultry farmers with the necessary capabilities to meet this challenge.

Dr Biplob Kumar Pramanik, General Secretary of WPSA-BB, highlighted the importance of safe and hygienic food. He mentioned that since most people in Bangladesh are middle-income earners, WPSA-BB is committed to making eggs and poultry meat affordable for the general population.

Shamsul Arefin Khaled, President of the Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council (BPICC), presented a paper titled "Sustainable Development of the Poultry Industry in Bangladesh" to illustrate the industry's current state. He shared that, according to international research, the poultry industry has seen little progress from 2021 to 2024, with periods of production decline.
