AL leader hacked dead in Jashore

A local Awami League leader was allegedly hacked to death in Jashore's Abhaynagar upazila on Saturday night. 

The incident took place around 10 pm at river ghat behind tax office in Nawapara municipality. 
The dead Zia was the general secretary of Awami League's Ward No-4 unit of Nawapara municipality. Locals  confirmed that he was a former ward councilor of the municipality.

Abhaynagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Emadul Karim said miscreants hacked Zia to death and left him at the river bank behind Nawapara tax office at night. When locals rescued him and took to the upazila health complex, doctors at the emergency department declared him dead. Police are trying to uncover the details of the incident.
