Two friends were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle at Chiroribandar upazila in Dinajpur district on Saturday night.
The accident took place at around 11:00PM on the Dinajpur-Phulbari highway in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Ziarul Rahman, 25, son of late Yaqub Ali, a resident of Khod Madahbpur Mistri Para under Dinajpur Sadar upazila, and Abdullah, 24, son of Abed Munshi, a resident of Dailar Mor area in the upazila.
It was learnt that the duo were returning from one of their friends of home riding on a motorcycle. Wehn, they arrived at Ucitpurt bazar on the highway, a truck coming from the opposite direction hit their motorcycle, leaving them dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the bodies and legal procedures are under process in this regard, said Motiar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
