The fugitive prime accused in a case filed over the murder of Mizanur Rahman over a dispute regarding fishing in a leased government pond in Bogura, was arrested from Sherpur upazila.
The arrestee was Abdus Samad, 55, son of the late Altab Ali Mondol from Dhepuya in Sherpur.
Acting Company Commander of RAB-12 Bogura, Shamsul Islam, said acting on intelligence report, RAB arrested Samad, who had been on the run for an extended period, from his relative's house in Tetulia village, Sherpur upazila early Saturday.
On August 17, Mizanur was beaten and hacked to death over a dispute regarding fishing in a leased government pond and previous enmity.
Following the incident, the victim's mother filed a case with Sherpur Police Station, naming 17 individuals and 10-12 unidentified suspects.
RAB handed Samad over to Sherpur Police Station for legal proceedings.
