Child drowns in Chuadanga river

A minor child drowned in the Mathabhanga River in Chuadanga town on Monday.

The accident took place around 9:30 am at Islam Para under Chuadanga municipality.
The dead Arabi Khatun, 5, was the daughter of Md Emon of Islam Para.

Locals said Arabi went fishing in the Mathabhanga River with friends in the morning. She suddenly drowned. Later, Arabi was rescued and taken to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where doctors declared her dead.

Chuadanga Sadar Hospital Emergency Department Duty Physician Dr. Shapla Khatun confirmed it.
