Barishal AL leader held in Dhaka in murder case

A leader of Barishal Metropolitan unit Awami League was arrested from Khilgaon area of Dhaka in connection with a murder case.

Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), on Monday said that the AL leader Saidur Rahman Rintu, 60, was held from Tilpapara around 9PM on Sunday.

He said that Maya Islam, 51, a resident of Banasree G Block area in Dhaka, sustained bullet injuries during the student movement on July 19. She was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where Maya succumbed to her injuries the next day.

Mostafizur Rahman,son of the victim, filed a case with Khilgaon Police Station on October 31.
