Engineer among 4 killed in Akij Beverage factory explosion

Four people, including an engineer, were killed in gas cylinder explosion at a factory of Akij Food and Beverage in Habiganj's Bahubal upazila on tuesday morning.

The deceased were engineer Riaz, and three workers--Mahfuz, Mizan and Gazi.

The incident happened at about 9AM at the factory in the upazila's Dubai bazar.

The explosion took place at 9AM, leaving engineer Riaz and worker Mahfuz dead on the scene. Mizan and Gazi later succumbed to their injuries at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, said Bahubal Model Police Station OC Jahidul Islam.

Their bodies are now at the hospital morgue.
