Two killed in road mishaps in Narail, Pirojpur

Two men were killed and another was injured in separate road accidents in two districts - Narail and Pirojpur.

NARAIL: A grocery trader was killed in a road accident in Sadar Upazila of the district on Tuesday.

The accident took place at Chawgachha Bus Stand on the Narail-Lohagara highway of the upazila at around 10:30 am. The deceased was identified as Imdadul Molla, 42, son of Jamal Molla, a resident of Bhurikhali Village under Auria Union in the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Police Station (PS) Sajedul Islam said that a speedy bus hit Imdadul in the morning when he was crossing the road with his motorcycle in the area, which left him dead on the spot. 

Being informed, police recovered the body and handed it over to the deceased's family members following the formal procedures, the OC added.

PIROJPUR: A man was killed and another injured in a road accident in Sadar Upazila of the district on Monday. 

The accident took place on Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Bangladesh-China 8th Friendship Bridge at around 2 pm. The deceased was identified as Md Maruf Sheikh, 25, son of Idris Sheikh, a resident of Mulagram area in the district town.

The injured person is Rudra Boral, 24, son of Rabindra Boral of Edilkhati Village under Nesarabad Upazila.
  
Pirojpur Sadar PS OC Md Abdus Sohbhan said that a motorcycle carrying the duo hit the railing of the bridge at noon after losing its control over the steering, which left Maruf dead on the spot and Rudra seriously injured.

Being informed, police recovered the body of the deceased and sent it to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. An unnatural death case was filed with Pirojpur Sadar PS.
