Chief Adviser to the interim government Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus will inaugurate the 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2025 today (January 1) at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal.
The fair will be opened at 10 am by Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus.
This information was revealed at a press conference by the organizers on Tuesday. Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin along with Commerce Secretary Md Selim Uddin, Vice Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Md. Anwar Hossain and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Md. Abdur Rahim Khan were present at the press conference.
The Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) are jointly organizing this event like every year. It was revealed that for the first time this year that allocation of stalls, pavilions of different categories have been done through online.
In presence of the Commerce Adviser, a MoU was signed between the EPB and Uber, an app-based service provider, to provide special concessions on passenger transport to and from the DITF venue.
Later, he inaugurated the e-ticketing apps for entry into the DITF-2025.
In addition, 'July 36 Square' have been created at the fair venue to honor the sacrifices of the martyrs of the anti-discrimination movement which has brought down the Sheikh Hasina government. Along with this, a Youth Pavilion has been created to motivate the country's youth in developing export.
Besides, initiatives have been taken to organize seminars based on potential export sectors and products at the fair. There will be a separate sourcing corner, electronics and furniture zones for the convenience of foreign entrepreneurs, institutions.
A technology corner and a seating corner for senior citizens have been created for the convenience of age-based visitors. There will also be a children park for pure entertainment of children.
The trade fair is going to be held for the fourth time at Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center.
According to the layout plan of the fair, some 361 pavilions/stalls/restaurants of different categories have been allocated in favor of local producing and exporters firms, general business establishments and foreign business entities in a cent percent transparent manner.
