Countrywide low pressure in gas supply will prevail for 72 hours (3 days) from January 1 to January 4 due to suspension of operation of an LNG station, known as floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU), Petrobangla release
has said.

Due to repair and maintenance work of one FSRU, the pressure in gas supply will remain low for 72 hours from January 1 across the country, said Petrobangla in a statement regretting the temporary inconvenience to the customers during the period.

Currently, the country has two FSRUs which supply about 1000-1100 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMCFD) of the total gas production of 2,900 MMCFD.

Of the two FSRUs, one can supply 500 MMCFD gas and another 600 MMCFD gas.
