Quamrul Islam on 4-day remand in extortion cases

Former Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam was placed on a four-day remand in two separate cases filed with Kamrangirchar Police Station.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Belal Hossain passed the order when he was produced before the court on Wednesday.

Zahid Hasan and Palash Chandra Das, investigating officers of the case, produced him before the court with 10-day remand prayer in each case.

On November 18, Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Qamrul Islam from Uttara area in the capital.
