Two killed in Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway road crash

A truck driver and his assistant were killed when their vehicle collided with a bus on Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway near Pulia in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur district early Wednesday.

The deceased were Nurul Alam, 26, son of Ayub Ali from Bachamara in Shibchar upazila, and his assistant, Abdur Kader Mia, son of Rafiqul Malitha from Tetulbaria in Jhenaidah.

Sub-Inspector Tamal of Shibchar Highway Police said the accident occurred at around 4.30AM on the Dhaka –bound lane of the expressway. The driver and his assistant were critically injured and were rushed to Shibchar Upazila Health Complex, where they were declared dead.
He said their night patrol team rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital.

Police seized both of the vehicles, and legal procedures are underway in this connection, he added.
