The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday filed a case against former law minister Anisul Haque on charges of amassing wealth worth Tk 146 crore beyond his known sources of income.

According to the case statement, Anisul Haque allegedly acquired and retained assets worth Tk 146.19 crore that could not be explained by his known sources of income.
Besides, the anti-graft body has also found the former minister’s involvement in suspicious transactions worth Tk 349.15 crore through 29 banks.
Earlier on 2 December, a Dhaka court sent Anisul to jail in a case filed with the capital's Uttara East Police Station over the killing of Fazlul Karim during the student-led July-August mass uprising.
On 13 August, Anisul Huq was arrested along with former adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina Salman F Rahman from the Sadarghat area while they were trying to flee the capital through the waterways.
