The council of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS), the student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, was an event of "staged and full of dramas," said Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) general secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir on Wednesday.
He said it was decided earlier who would take the leadership of the organization.
Nasir made the remarks while responding to the questions of journalists after placing wreath at the graveyard of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of the 46th founding anniversary of JCD.
Referring to the Shibir, the JCD general secretary said: "They don't want to do politics openly. They do a kind of politics which takes place through secret activities."
After long 14 years, Islami Chhatra Shibir held its central members' conference at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on Tuesday openly. Zahidul Islam was elected president and Nurul Islam secretary general at the conference.
After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government, JCD and Shibir have taken face-to-face stand over establishing their supremacy at the educational institutions in many places of the country. Incidents of clashes also took place among the leaders and workers of two organisations.
