Year begins with zero dengue death

The first day of the new year 2025 reported zero dengue death while 86 people admitted to the hospitals across the country with the a mosquito-borne disease in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning. 

According to the Directorate General of Heath Service (DGHS), of the new cases, 14 people hospitalized in Dhaka North Coty Corporation while 12 in Dhaka South City Corporation. 
Meanwhile, a total of 536 people are receiving treatment in the hospitals across the country. 

Last year, the country recorded 575 dengue-related deaths and a total of 1,01,214 dengue cases.

Meanwhile, in 2023, the dengue related deaths recorded 1,705 while the number of cases reached 3,21,179.
