National Social Services Day observed in districts

The National Social Services Day-2024 was observed on Thursday across the country in a befitting manner.

This year's theme of the Day is - "Those who have no one by their side, have social services" (Nei Pashe Kew Jar, Somaj Seba Ache Tar).

To mark the Day, different programmes including walkathon and open discussion were organized in Gopalganj, Laxmipur, Madaripur and Pirojpur districts. 

GOPALGANJ: On this occasion, different programmes were organized in the district.

Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Qamruzzaman inaugurated the Day's programme after releasing balloons on the DC office premises in the town at around 9:30 am.

Later on, a walkathon was brought out from there, and it ended on Gopalganj Municipality Office premises after parading the main streets of the town.

After the walkathon, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the municipality office.
DC Muhammad Qamruzzaman was present as the chief guest while Additional DC (ADC) Md Golam Kabir presided over the meeting. 

Superintend of Police (SP) Md Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Director (DD) of Social Services Department Harun-ar-Rashid and DDLG Bishwajit Kumar Pal, among others, also spoke at the programme.

LAXMIPUR: In this connection, the district administration and District Social Services Department jointly organized different programmes.

A walkathon was brought out from District Stadium in the morning, and it ended on the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises after parading main streets of the town.

After the walkathon, an open discussion on the welfare of the sate was held in the Zilla Parishad auditorium.

Laxmipur DC Razib Kumar Sarker was present as the chief guest while ADC JP Dewan presided over the programme.

SP Akhter Hossain, Assistant Director (AD) of District Social Services Department Muhammad Mahbubur Rahman, and SANAK President Z M Faruquee, among others, also spoke on the occasion.

After the discussion, blankets were distributed among the cold-hit people and wheel-chairs among persons with disabilities. 

MADARIPUR: An open discussion on the welfare of the state was held in front of District Social Services Office in the town on the occasion of the Day.

District Social Services Department organized the programme with its DD Md Mainuddin Sarkar in the chair.

Madaripur DC Yamin Akhtar attended the discussion as the chief guest while SP Md Saifuzzaman was present as the special guest.

District Social Services Department AD Afzal Hossain and Civil Surgeon Dr Munir Ahmad Khan, among others, also spoke there.

PIROJPUR: To mark the Day, the district administration and District Social Services Department jointly organized different programme.

A walkathon was brought out from Pirojpur Circuit House premises in the morning, and it ended on the District Shilpakala Academy premises in the town.

Then, an open discussion was held there.

Pirojpur DC Muhammad Ashraful Alam Khan was present as the chief guest while District Social Services Department DD Md Iqbal Kabir presided over the discussion.

ADC (General) Md Selim Hossain, Additional SP (Admin and Finance) Sheikh Mustifizur Rahman, and Residential Medial Officer of Pirojpur Sadar Hospital Dr Md Nizam Uddin, among others, also present at the programme.

Besides, prizes were also distributed among the winners who took part in the open discussion there.
