Dear Sir,
The persistent air pollution in Dhaka has become a major concern, severely affecting public health and the quality of life for its residents. With the city's rapid urbanization, industrial growth, and increasing vehicular emissions, air quality levels in Dhaka have reached alarming levels, particularly during the winter months. According to recent reports, the concentration of hazardous pollutants like PM2.5 and carbon monoxide has exceeded safe limits, making the air dangerously unhealthy for prolonged exposure.
The adverse effects of this pollution are widespread, contributing to respiratory diseases, heart conditions, and other health issues, particularly among vulnerable groups like children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing health conditions. Furthermore, the city's infrastructure and public transport systems are not equipped to handle the rising pollution levels, exacerbating the problem.
The situation calls for urgent attention, as the well-being of Dhaka's residents is at stake. It is crucial that we act collectively to improve air quality and create a healthier environment for future generations.
