Missing Jubodal leader's throat-slit body recovered in Meherpur

MEHERPUR, Jan 2: Police recovered the throat-slit body of a local leader of Jubodal from Gangni Upazila in the district on Thursday morning after 12 hours of his missing.

Deceased Alamgir Hossain, 32, was the president of Ward No. 1 Jubodal under Gangni Municipality. He was the son of Mainuddin Sheikh of Banshabaria Village in the upazila.

It was known that Alamgir had been missing since the last12 hours. On Thursday morning, locals spotted his body with hands tied up with a tree on Sohorbaria-Kamarkhali field of the upazila and informed the matter to the police.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Meherpur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. 
The body bore several injury marks.

Officer-in-Charge of Gangni Police Station Bonny Israel confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are investigating the matter.
