Govt trashes claim on X of Hindu ban in public service

The Bangladesh government has dismissed a claim circulated on X (formerly Twitter) alleging a ban on Hindus in public service, calling it "completely false."

The claim, posted on the X account of Times Algebra, was refuted by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing in a statement on its verified Facebook account, CA Press Wing Facts, on Thursday.

"The Bangladesh government does not discriminate against any citizen based on religion," the Press Wing clarified, adding that the quote attributed to the Home Affairs Adviser in the post was also fabricated.    —UNB
