As many as 62 officials have been transferred in a single day in a major shake-up in the Election Commission Secretariat.
The changes impacted both central and field-level officials, including upazila, district, and regional election officers, or those of equivalent rank.
On Wednesday, eight separate notifications were issued detailing the transfers.
The sweeping reshuffle follows the formation of a new Election Commission under the leadership of AAM Nasir Uddin.
According to a notification:
* Sylhet Regional Election Officer Md Abdul Halim Khan reassigned as director (operations) at the NID.
* Dhaka Regional Election Officer Md Faridul Islam appointed as deputy secretary at the Election Commission Secretariat.
*Chattogram Regional Election Officer Md Yunus Ali reassinged as Dhaka regional election officer.
* Mymensingh Regional Election Officer Md Belayet Hossain Chowdhury transferred to Chattogram as regional election officer.
* Deputy Secretary Md Atiar Rahman from the Election Operations Branch reassigned as director at the Election Training Institute.
* Faridpur Regional Election Officer Md Saiful Islam transferred to the Election Commission Secretariat as deputy secretary.
* Barishal Regional Election Officer Md Alauddin reassigned to Faridpur as regional election officer.
* Deputy Secretary Rashedul Islam assigned to the Election Management-1 Sub-Branch.
* Rangamati Senior District Election Officer Md Nurul Alam appointed as Sylhet regional election officer.
* Rajshahi Senior District Election Officer Md Shahinur Islam Pramanik transferred to Mymensingh as regional election officer.
* Jashore Senior District Election Officer Md Anisur Rahman reassigned to Barishal as regional election officer.
A separate notification reassigned 17 officials to positions within the Election Commission Secretariat as well as roles of district and senior district election officers.
Another notification transferred 16 officials to positions as senior assistant secretaries, additional regional election officers, and district election officers across different regions.
In a separate order, Abul Kashem Md Mazharul Islam, assistant director of the Election Training Institute, was promoted to deputy director. In addition, 17 officials were transferred through separate notifications.
