Motorcyclist killed in Gaibandha road accident

A man was killed after a motorcycle hit a roadside electric pillar at Gobindaganj upazila in Gaibandha district on Friday morning.

The incident happened at around 9:00AM in Chowmatha area on the Bogra-Rangpur Highway in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Hafez Jahid Hasan, son of Solaiman Ali, hailed from Bogura district. He was a Khatib of a mosque.

It was learnt that the accident occurred when Jahid Hasan was heading towards a mosque to offer Jumma prayer, leaving him dead on the spot.

Mozaffar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj Highway Police Station, confirmed the incident.
