Women found dead in Kurigram

Police recovered the hanging body of a woman from a cowshed at Fulbari upazila in Kurigram district on Friday morning.

The incident happened around 9:00AM at Chandra Kadamtala village under Sadar union in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Bilkis Begum, 40, wife of Sirazul Haque, a resident of Shimulbari union in the upazila.

It was learnt that Bilkis Begum had been suffering from a disease for a long time. She had taken treatment from various places including Rangpur. For the last four months, she had been continuing her treatment staying at her father's house. She had become mentally distressed as she did not notice any signs of recovery from the illness. Following this incident, she committed suicide by hanging herself on a ceiling in a cowshed at his father's house.

Mamunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Fulbari Police Station, confirmed the matter.
