Mohibur Rahman Muhib of the Bangla department and Md Mustafizur Rahman of the Philosophy department have been made President and Secretary of Jahangirnagar University Islami Chhatrashibir, respectively, for the 2025 session.
A press release issued by Shibir's central media wing confirmed the matter on Friday.
A delegation of central executive council members led by Central Shibir President Jahidul Islam attended nomination procedures, the press release read.
The press release states that the election of the president was through polling on a ballot paper signed by the central president Muhibur Rahman, who received the most votes, was announced as the new president and sworn in.
Later, the newly elected president Muhib nominated Mostafizur Rahman as the secretary for JU chapter based on the suggestions of the members.
Besides, Central President Zahidul Islam, Central Literary Secretary Sibagatullah, the outgoing JU President Harunur Rashid and others were also present in the session.
