AL leader killed in M'sing road accident

A local Awami League leader was killed after his motorcycle hit a stationary truck from behind at Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh district on Thursday night.

The accident occurred at around 10:00 PM on the Mymensingh-Kishoreganj highway in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Fazlul Karim, 55, a resident of Kahed village under Iswarganj upazila in the district, and the secretary of the Jatia Union Awami League unit.

It was learnt that the accident happened when Fazlul lost control of his motorcycle and hit the roadside truck due to fog, leaving him critically injured.

Locals rescued him and took him to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
