Flower festival begins in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 4: A unique type of a month-long colourful flower festival began on Saturday at the green and water-filled Faujdarhat DC Park in the port city.

The festival, the largest flower festival of Bangladesh, is being held in the port city for the third time. The unique festival usually attracts a wonderful gathering of joy, culture and tradition.

Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid inaugurated the festival as chief guest while Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Dr Md Mokhles Ur Rahman and Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Dr Md Ziauddin attended the function as special guests.
The DC Park has been decorated with various flowers in different aesthetics across an area of 196 acres of land. At least 136 species of domestic and foreign flowers including Dahlia, Chrysanthemum, Rose and Marigold are on display in the flower festival.
