The ferry services on the Daulatdia-Paturia route resumed on Sunday (December 6) at 10 am after being suspended for nine hours due to dense fog.

Confirming the matter, Salauddin Ahmed, manager of Daulatdia Ghat branch of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), told Daily Observer that ferry services had been suspended since 1 am on Sunday due to dense fog. The decision was taken to avoid accidents as the beacon lights and marking points of the channel disappeared.
Later, the services resumed at 10 am after the fog cleared. There are currently 17 ferries, both large and small, operating on the route, he added.

Meanwhile, hundreds of vehicles were stranded at Daulatdia ferry terminal in Rajbari and Paturia ferry terminal in Manikganj due to the prolonged closure.
