The hanging body of an official of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) was recovered from his office on Sunday morning.
The deceased was Mohammad Mostain Kabir Sohel, additional director (OSD) of the Sports Training Department at the university.
Shafiqul Islam Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mymensingh Kotwali Police Station, said that the colleagues of Sohel found his body hanging from a fan rod in his office room at the Sports Training Department in the morning and informed police. He said police found two suicide note, a mobile phone set, and some other evidences.
The body has been sent to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police are investigating the matter, the OC added. Detailed will informed after getting the report.
Police said Sohel was the son of Abdul Motin of Charpara village of Trishal. He was former sports affair secretary of BAU unit Bangladesh Chhatra.
Student affair adviser of BAU Prof Dr Shahidul Islam said that Sohel left home at around 7AM for local market. Later, he was found hanging in his office room. Initially they suspected that, Sohel might have committed suicide
