The Ministry of Public Administration has announced that it hold a meeting for the reassessment of the applications of 227 candidates, who were excluded from the 43rd BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) examination, on Thursday (January 9).
The ministry issued a notice regarding the meeting on Sunday. It said the meeting will be held at 11:30AM chaired by the Senior Secretary of the Ministry Dr Mokhlesur Rahman.
According to the notice, among 2,163 candidates recommended by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) for the 43rd BCS, notification for the appointment of 1,896 candidates was issued.
However, due to negative remarks in intelligence reports, notification for appointing 227 candidates was withheld.
Meanwhile, on January 1, the excluded candidates staged a demonstration in front of the Secretariat, demanding a reconsideration of their cases. They also met with the Public Administration Secretary to present their grievances.
On January 2, the ministry addressed the issue, explaining the exclusions and announcing the opportunity for reconsideration applications. It also clarified that the reconsideration process is open to all 227 excluded candidates, who submitted their applications for review on January 5.
