PABNA, Jan 5: A two-day (Jan 4-5) workshop on Information Technology (IT) was held in the district.

The workshop was arranged in the conference room of Satsanga Pallikallyan Samity. It was attended by 17 youths.

Hasina Akhter Roazi, chairman of the organization, chaired the closing ceremony. Pabna Press Club President Akhtaruzzaman Akhter was present as the  chief guest. Akhinoor Islam Remon, former secretary of the press club attended the workshop as special guest. Treasurer Sudarsan Talukder presented the closing ceremony.

The chief guest, in his speech, said, IT plays a vital role in today's personal, commercial, and non-profit usage; in its simplest terms, IT is the application of computers and other electronic equipment to receive, store, retrieve, transmit, and manipulate data.

The special guest said, the importance of IT is sometimes taken for granted because its applications are widespread worldwide.

"We depend on it in our personal lives for communication, banking, social media, investment, research, and other purposes. Organizations cannot exist and stay competitive today without adequate IT systems", he added.

Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, home, and business security block-chain, and drones are some of the developing trends that are revolutionising the industry.

IT is an ever-changing industry and those who want to stay at the forefront must adapt these innovations to their usage whether personal or otherwise.

In the concluding session of the workshop, certificates were distributed among participants.

Md Abdul Baten conducted the workshop. Naresh Madhu, executive director of Satsanga Pallikallyan Samity, moderated the closing ceremony.

Department of Social Welfare financially supported the event.
