Students of Jagannath University (JnU) have expressed their desire to avoid bureaucratic hurdles and red tape in the development of the second campus. This statement was made during a press conference held on Sunday at the Language Martyr Rafique Building of the university.

In a written statement, student leader AKM Rakib said, "It has been over a month since we began our movement for the second campus, but we have yet to see any progress.

Today, we are here to ask the administration about the status of the project. We were informed that the university administration intended to appoint a Project Director (PD) urgently, but after receiving complaints, the University Grants Commission (UGC) made it clear that the PD appointment will be done in accordance with the university's own regulations."

The university administration also revealed that they have sent a letter to the UGC regarding the second campus, and the UGC is expected to forward it to the Ministry of Education soon. The administration reassured that they are closely monitoring the issue and will take prompt action. They also confirmed that the land acquisition process has been completed.
