Ex-AL minister Latif Biswas arrested from Sirajganj

 
SIRAJGANJ, Jan 1:  Abdul Latif Biswas, former fisheries and livestock minister and president of the Sirajganj district unit of the Awami League, was arrested on Sunday. 

He was apprehended from his house in the Kamarpara area of Belkuchi upazila, Sirajganj, during a raid conducted by a joint forces team, said Md Abdul Bari, Inspector (Investigation) of Belkuchi Police Station. Acting on a tip-off, the joint forces raided his house at approximately 3:00pm.
"The arrested has not yet been handed over to the police. Once the handover is complete, we will be able to provide more information," he added.

Abdul Latif Biswas was elected member of parliament (MP) twice from Sirajganj-5 constituency (Belkuchi-Chouhali) on the ousted Awami League's ticket.
