A youth committed suicide by hanging himself with a ceiling fan in his room over a family dispute at Adamdighi upazila in Bogura district on Sunday night.
The incident happened at Peauta Habib Mor area under Santahar municipality area in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Saqibur Rahman, 25, son of Siddiqur Rahman, a resident of the area.
It was learnt that the wife of Saqibur went to her father's house following an altercation with her husband around two years ago. Later, Saqibur's mother went to bring her daughter in-law, but she denied to return her husband's house. After this incident, Saqibur got frustrated. At one point, he committed suicide by hanging himself with a ceiling in his room.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy, said Mustafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Adamdighi Police Station.
An unnatural death case was filed in the incident, the OC added.
