Four fined for illegally fishing in Padma

DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA, Jan 6: A mobile court in Daulatpur Upazila of the district on Sunday fined four fishermen Tk 20,000 for fishing Hilsa illegally in the Padma River. 

The mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Md Foisal Ahmed conducted a drive in Maniker Char area of the river at noon, and fined them the amount. At that time, battery used in creating current for catching Hilsa was also seized.

Upazila Fisheries Officer Md Hossain Ahmed Swapon, police and members of Border Guard Banglash from Udaynagar Camp were also present during the drive.
