The dismissed probationary sub-inspectors of the 40th Cadet batch from Rajshahi's Sardha Police Academy on Monday met Home Ministry's Senior Secretary Dr. Nasimul Gani at his office demanding reinstatement of the jobs.

Munmun Ahmed, one of the members of the delegation, told media that the senior secretary had heard them and assured them to extend necessary supports.

"We have discussed with the secretary. He was sincere about our issue. Within a very short time, he will inform us about the decision as the passing out parade would be held on January 20 this year," she added.

However, the Home Secretary has not made any comment on the matter.

Earlier, the dismissed cadet SIs organized a demonstration in front of the Secretariat. They began their sit-in programme in the morning. At that time, law enforcement officers were seen trying to halt their programme.
