Narayanganj, Jan6:  A Narayanganj court on Monday allowed police to take a former Detective Branch (DB) sub-inspector on remand for five days in connection with the murder of Juba Dal activist Shaon Ahmed. 

The remand order was issued by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Abdullah Al Masum following a police prayer to take the sub-inspector on remand for seven days, confirmed Court Police inspector Kaiyum Khan.  
The accused, Mahfuzur Rahman Kanak was arrested at 11:30 PM on Thursday night from Dhaka Airport, where he was  posted at the Dhaka Airport 13 APBn unit. He is the 16th named accused in the case filed over Shaon's death.
