220 stranded Bangladeshis arrive in Dhaka from Kolkata

A total of 220 Bangladeshis, who stranded at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, have arrived in Dhaka from Malaysia.

The Malindo air flight, which departed from Kolkata at 1:30AM on Tuesday, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital around 2:30AM, Riaz Uddin Fahadi, a passenger, informed this to media.

At night on January 5, the Malindo Air flight (OD-162) from Kuala Lumpur to Dhaka made an emergency landing in Kolkata due to dense fog.

The flight was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at 3AM on Monday.

The passengers alleged that no effort was made to repatriate them to Bangladesh from Kolkata, despite 16 hours passing.
