5 killed as microbus falls into ditch being hit by train in Faridpur

Five people were killed and at least four injured after a train hit a microbus at Kafura Level Crossing in Faridpur on Tuesday afternoon.

The injured were sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

Three died on the spot, while two others at the hospital on arrival.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

It was learnt that there were nine persons, including the driver, inside the microbus.

Eyewitness said a 'Madhomoti Express' train was heading towards Dhaka from Khulna via Faridpur. And the microbus was heading towards Munshibazar. The collision between the two vehicles occurred at about 12:15PM at the Kafura Level Crossing.

After the collision, the microbus fell into a roadside ditch.
