BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir reached to the party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's Gulshan residence 'Firoza' on Tuesday (January 7) evening to see off her.
Khaleda Zia will leave her Gulshan residence 'Firoza' at 8:00pm for Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Then she will leave Dhaka Airport for London's Heathrow Airport by an ambulance sent for Khaleda Zia by Qatar's Ameer.
Mirza Fakhrul reached 'Firoza' at 6:10pm. After reaching there. he asked the BNP leaders and workers to vacate the roads near Khaleda Zia's residence. He also asked then to stand on both sides of the road.
Members of different law enforcing agencies were seen very active in and around 'Firoza' for the sake of safety and security of the BNP Chairperson. Leaders and workers of BNP and its front organistions started thronging the 'Firoza' from the afternoon. Their presence also increased manifold with the passing of time.
Coming out of 'Firoza' at 8:00pm, Khaleda Zia will go to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport boarding a car through the roundabout at Gulshan-2 and then Banani and Kakoli.
Meanwhile, security has been strengthen at Hazrat Shahajalal International Airport on the occasion of Khaleda Zia's travelling abroad. Several tiers of security measures have been taken at the airport for the former prime minister. The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) held meetings with the high officials of the different law enforcing agencies and intelligence agencies.
Biman Bandar Police Station's officer-in-charge (OC) Taslima Akter said 10 platoons of police would be deployed at the airport area. Apart from the Armed Police, there will be RAB, CAAB's AVSEC forces and SWAT teams.
CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal Manzur Kabir Bhuiyan said all kinds of security measures have been taken so that no security issues are arisen at the airport. Strict measures have also been taken to enter the airport.
Meanwhile, the central BNP has directed the leaders and workers of the party and its front organisations to avert sufferings of people when she will be taken to the airport.
