Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has summoned the bank accounts of seven members of Sheikh Hasina family including Tulip Siddique and her sister Azmina Siddique.
The BFIU has summoned the bank accounts in the wake of publishing reports against Tulip Siddique that she had received residential flats from a number of people in the United Kingdom.
Earlier on December 3 last, the information about Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana's bank accounts was sought. However, the BFIU has sought their account information afresh.
In a letter, the BFIU asked all the commercial banks of the country to provide information of transactions by Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Sheikh Hasina's son Sajib Ahmed Wazed (Joy), daughter Saima Wazed Hossain (Putul), Sheikh Rehana's son Radwan Mujib Siddique, daughters Tulip Rezwana Siddique and Azmina Siddique.
Information about all, except Tulip Siddique and Azmina Siddique, was sought earlier. It could not be knoiwn whether Azmina Siddique is a Bangladesh citizen. Except Azmina, the National ID Card Numbers of others have been mentioned in the BFIU letter.
A number of reports have recently been published over Tulip Rizwana Siddique's flats in London, the capital of the UK. The reports have created widespread controversies.
