KAMALGANJ, MOULVIBAZAR, Jan 7: A father died of heart attack on hearing news of kidnapping and violating her daughter in Kamalganj Upazila of the district.
On Saturday night, victim's elder brother filed a case as the plaintiff with police station (PS). Later on, police arrested two.
The arrested are Mustafa Mia, 57, of Kulaura Upazila, and Joynal Mia, 58, of Cumilla.
According to family sources, on December 31 evening, rapists lifted her and took her to Sylhet by a private car; she was violated there by four/five youths including Mustafa and Joynal. After three days, they sold her to a gang at Tk 3 lakh.
But when the gang was taking her to their destination, she fled from the boarding car and took shelter in a safe place.
On information, her family members rescued her and took her to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital.
Hearing this news her father Mafiz Mia (nickname), 62, got heart attack and died.
Victim's brother said, "As we filed the case, we are threatened."
In-Charge of Shamshernagar Police Camp Md Mustafizur Rahman confirmed the case filing. Two accused were arrested from Sylhet, he added.
After interrogating the arrested, other accused will also be nabbed, he further said.
