Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations 2025 are scheduled to commence in the last week of June.
Preparations for the exam schedule are currently underway, according to Professor Md. Abul Bashar, Controller of Examinations at Dhaka Education Board.
Professor Abul Bashar stated, "Preparations for holding the HSC exams in the last week of June have begun. As part of this, a draft routine is being prepared. We aim to send the proposed routine to the ministry for approval by the third week of this month."
According to sources at the Dhaka Education Board, the HSC exam registration process will start on March 2, while colleges are required to publish the results of the preliminary (selection) exams by February 27.
Traditionally, SSC exams were held at the beginning of February and HSC exams in early April. However, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the academic calendar starting from March 2020, delaying exams significantly in subsequent years.
In 2024, HSC exams began on June 30 but were postponed midway due to political movements demanding government changes. After the government transition, the remaining exams were rescheduled to begin on September 11. However, protests from students demanding the cancellation of the remaining exams led to a decision to further delay and reduce the exams’ scope.
Ultimately, the remaining exams were canceled, and results were published on October 15 based on SSC scores and subject mapping. This approach resulted in a 77.78% pass rate among students.
