Passports of Hasina, 96 others cancelled

The government has cancelled the passports of 97 persons including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the involvement in mass killing during the July uprising and enforced disappearance. 

Of them, passports of 75 persons including Shaikh Hasina was cancelled for mass killing while passports of 22 were cancelled due to involvement in enforced disappearance, Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad said at a press briefing held at Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.

He informed that the name of Sheikh Hasina is in the list of those whose passports were cancelled.

Former Prime Minister Sheikha Hasina fled to India on August 5 last year amid the student-mass movement. The government has already started working to prepare a complete list of martyred during the July uprising. In the first phase, a list of 826 persons was unveiled.

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has started trial process of Sheikh Hasina for her alleged involvement in mass killing. An arrest warrant has already been issued from the ICT.
